Saidnaya has many ancient associations with the Holy Bible. Many scholars consider Saidnaya to be second in religious importance to Jerusalem due to the fact that inside the Convent of Our Lady of Saidnaya (Built 547 A.D.) is The Icon of the All-Holy Virgin which was painted by the Apostle Luke the precursor. Many people from region and away places seek the holy shrine in Convent of our Lady of Saidnay for healing.There are massive monasteries have been built recently in Saidnaya:Saint Christophoros,Saint Thomas,Saint Cherubim and Others.
